Archiving Policy

MIST International Journal of Science and Technology (MIJST)

This policy outlines the arrangements that ensure the journal’s digital content remains accessible indefinitely through professional, third-party preservation systems.

MIJST defines long-term digital preservation as the permanent storage of scholarly content with independent external providers to guarantee continued access, even if the journal website becomes unavailable.

1 External Global Archiving (Portico)

MIJST has a formal preservation agreement with Portico, a leading community-supported digital preservation service.

All published Version of Record (VoR) articles are deposited in the Portico archive. This ensures that the final, peer-reviewed version is securely preserved in a trusted environment independent of the journal’s website.

2 Trigger Events

In circumstances where MIJST is no longer able to provide access (such as catastrophic failure or cessation of publication), Portico will activate public access to the archived Version of Record, ensuring uninterrupted availability to the global research community.

3 Persistent Identifiers (DOI)

Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref. These persistent identifiers:

  • Provide a permanent link to the Version of Record.
  • Ensure continued discoverability.
  • Resolve to Portico if the primary website becomes unavailable.

4 Commitment to Preservation

Independent Archiving
Secure Dark Archive
DOI-Based Permanence

MIJST safeguards the integrity and accessibility of the scholarly record for future generations.
