Manuscript Withdrawal Policy

MIJST understands that authors may occasionally need to withdraw their manuscripts after submission. However, since the peer-review process involves significant time and effort from editors and volunteer reviewers, we follow a strict withdrawal policy.

1 Withdrawal Before Peer Review

Authors may withdraw their manuscript within 5-7 days of submission without any justification, provided the peer-review process has not yet commenced. In this case, no record of the submission will remain in the public domain.

2 Withdrawal During Peer Review

Withdrawal is strongly discouraged once the manuscript has been sent to reviewers. If an author must withdraw at this stage, they must:

Submit a formal letter signed by all co-authors explaining the reason.
Wait for a formal confirmation from the Editorial Office.

3 Withdrawal After Acceptance

Withdrawal after acceptance is not permitted except in cases of:

  • Discovery of major scientific errors or data inconsistencies.
  • Unresolved ethical issues or copyright disputes.
  • Warning: Invalid withdrawals may result in a temporary ban on future submissions.

4 Duplicate Submission & Ethical Breach

If a Duplicate Submission is discovered, MIJST will automatically withdraw the paper and may notify the authors' institution regarding the ethical breach. This is handled in accordance with COPE guidance on duplicate submission and redundant publication.

5 Post-Publication (Retractions)

Once a paper is published, it cannot be "withdrawn." It can only be Retracted or Corrected.
