Complaints

MIJST is committed to providing a professional and ethical publishing service to the academic community. All complaints are handled in a timely, transparent, and constructive manner in accordance with COPE best practices.

1 Scope of Complaints

This policy applies to complaints relating to:

Editorial Processes:
Delays in peer review, Handling of submissions, Editorial decision process.
Staff or Editorial Conduct:
Allegations of bias, Discourtesy, Unethical behavior.
Publication Ethics:
Suspected misconduct, Plagiarism, Undisclosed conflicts.

Concerns regarding research integrity are also addressed under the Allegations of Misconduct Policy.

2 How to Lodge a Complaint

Complaints must be submitted in writing via email and should include:

  • Manuscript ID (if applicable)
  • Clear description of the issue

3 Handling Procedure

Acknowledgment: Receipt of the complaint will be confirmed within 3–5 working days.
Investigation: The Executive Editor or a neutral Editorial Board member conducts the review. Any individual involved is excluded.
Resolution: A formal response is normally provided within 4 weeks. Timeline updates are provided if required.
Escalation: If not satisfied, the matter may be escalated to the Editor-in-Chief, whose decision is final.

4. Confidentiality

All complaints are handled confidentially to protect both complainants and those involved.
